<<<Post #2: Backes & Strauss                      Post #4: Blancpain>>>

Today's blog focuses on a collection of six watches by Bell & Ross. The BR-01 series

Bell & Ross

Launched in 1992, Bell & Ross is a French watch company with production facilities located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
The timepieces are designed by Swiss designer, Bruno Belamich and businessman Carlos A. Rosillo.
Bell & Ross are known for striking, simplistic designs influenced by aeronautical cockpit instrumentation. Clearly legible dials have proven popular among pilots and divers as practical wristwatches in a work environment and are also seen as fashionable dress watches bearing sleek, functional design.

For the Only Watch 2013 auction, Bell & Ross have assembled a collection of six watches from the BR-01 collection, housed in a lavish case fashioned from high quality wood. They are all inspired by instruments that are essential to aeronautical navigation and have, as their common and unique denominator, a touch of orange.

This exclusive box is designed to be a dashboard on which the vital instruments are laid out in a T for optimum legibility. It will give its possessor the impression of owning a piece of an aircraft cockpit.

Orange is the ultimate color for aeronautical instrumentation due to its high level of legibility and capacity to make important information stand out through contrast. It is also a traditional color for Bell & Ross, which has used it on timepieces for the same reasons.
